This was a very special ring box. I was approached by a bride-to-be all the way from Korea. She had viewed an earlier version of a ring box I had made and posted, and wanted to order one for her upcoming wedding, but with one condition. She asked me to use scrap wood only. I learned from my woodcraft teacher that even small pieces of scrap wood are to be cherished, as wood is very precious. I was surprised and touched by her thought.

I used Purple Heart wood and designed it in the shape of a heart for the newly wed couple to enjoy. Due to its roundness I wasn’t able to install a hinge so used magnets instead. This piece included all my heart as I worked - I wish all the blessings for this special couple!
